Our purpose is to display the love of Jesus Christ by raising beef cattle and provide quality beef and produce at no cost to Local Organizations.

Our Mission

Steer’d Up, Inc is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that has been established for the purpose of displaying the love of Jesus Christ by providing food to those in need. Our mission is to raise beef cattle and provide high quality beef and produce, at no cost, to local churches, food pantries, local battered women/kids shelters and other non-profit organizations that provide food to those afflicted by poverty in Ventura County. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 9.9% of Ventura County residents are living under the poverty limit. That is almost 85,000 people who are struggling with their next meal. But did you know that one 600 lb steer can provide approximately 240 lbs of table meat. That is enough meat to help provide a meal for over 950 people!

Our story

In 2010 God had placed a burden on my heart to help the poor living locally in Ventura County by raising cattle and then to donate the meat to local food pantries to help those in need.  Shortly after, I started volunteering at a local food pantry for a little over a year. I recall clearly the first night serving. Before arriving I had no idea what I would be doing but soon found that they had assigned me the task of distributing the meat from the refrigerator. Seeing the broken families and individuals going through the line broke my heart but it wasn't until the line was coming to an end that I realized the magnitude of what was taking place.  An elderly woman approached me and as I handed her a packaged steak she all of a sudden broke down crying and gave me a hug. She went on to tell me that without the meat that I was giving her she would have nothing to eat. My heart just sank.

During my time serving at the pantry and seeing the lack of meat, as well as the poor quality of meat that was being distributed through the pantry, my heart was broken again and I renewed my commitment to move forward with the hope that God had given me.  Throughout this time God has faithfully confirmed and reconfirmed what His calling was for my family and me.

We believe that the Father has called us to show His heart to those in need. As the elderly women cried on my shoulder, the reality of Mathew 25:35-40 came alive.  When Jesus says he was hungry and you gave him food, he was thirsty and you gave him something to drink, …he was naked and you gave him clothes.... and the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me. There is nothing that compares to when the word of God is realized in our everyday lives.

In Christ,

Marco Vujicic, Founder

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
